OD, FAAO graduated with Honors from the Illinois College
Optometry (ICO) in Chicago, IL. Following
completion of his doctorate degree, he elected to
further his education by completing a Pediatric
and Binocular Vision Disorders residency program.
During his residency, Dr.
Carlsson worked with children and adults
in the management of various forms of visual dysfunctions
including strabismus, amblyopia, and other accommodative
disorders. He also worked in advanced care, treating
and managing ocular pathologies such as glaucoma,
macular degeneration, and uveitis. Through this
residency he also furthered his education in emergency
rotations, anterior segment disease, and specialty
contact lens fittings.

has worked for Nationwide Vision Centers in
Arizona becoming further specialized in pediatric
and family eye care. During his employment, his
knowledge and patient care solidified his experience
and provided him with pediatric specialty recognition.

|Anne M. Carlsson MS,
OTR/L graduated with Honors from Washington
University in St. Louis, MO with a Masters in Occupational
Therapy. Since graduation, she has worked
in the public school setting, in early intervention,
and in private practice treating children ages 0-18
years of age with a multitude of diagnoses. Mrs.
Carlsson has been a presenter in both Illinois
and Arizona speaking on “Sensory Integration
in the School System” and “Optometry
and OT: A Partnership for Success.” Mrs.
Carlsson currently works as an occupational therapist as well as vision therapist at Carlsson Family
Eye Center. Anne brings with her years
of experience as a clinician and therapist to combine
principles of vision therapy and occupational therapy
in a “whole child” approach.|
|Desiree Younger is our licensed optician and office manager. She moved to Arizona from New Hampshire in 2007. She started in the optical field in 2008, when she also started working for CFEC. Since then, she has moved from being our optical technician to now being an ABOC licensed optician and manager at CFEC. She likes to spend her free time with her newlywed husband, and her family of animals: 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a fish! Desiree’s warm and fun personality will surely make your visit with us an enjoyable, relaxing experience here at CFEC.|
|Laura Henson is our receptionist and the first one you will make initial contact with for scheduling and checking in. Her witty and outgoing personality will help make your first experience with Carlsson Family Eye Center a pleasant one. Please feel free to ask her any questions. Her 3 years of optical experience and 6 years of customer service will help point you in the right direction. In her free time she volunteers for a local dog rescue.|
|Kristin Bruce resides with her husband and young daughter in Gilbert, AZ. She is currently enjoying her second year as part of the C.F.E.C. family. Kristin spent 9 years in radiology before transitioning into the optical world and is greatly enjoying her new profession. Kristin is also an artist and painter who has a great love for the visual arts. Not only does she believe everyone deserves the gift of great vision, she also understands the importance vision makes to a person's growth, development, and future success. |
|Roxanne Hammer is from Nebraska and has lived in Arizona since 2010. She has been in the optical field since 1999. Roxanne has been involved in all aspects of eye care for quite awhile offering a strong knowledge and experience base for her position as optician and assistant manager here at Carlsson Family Eye Center. She has two beautiful children, Jadyn and Terrence. In her free time, she enjoys this great weather and watching her kids’ activities. Roxanne looks forward to meeting you, offering only the best in service for you and your family’s eye care needs.|
|Chelsea Holden is one of our newest optometric technician’s. She is new to the optical field and is really growing and enjoying it! She will get all your pretesting done prior to seeing Dr. Carlsson with her friendly smile and sincere attitude. Born and raised in Arizona, she spends her free time with family & friends “shopping” and enjoying life. |
